Overview of the Deputy Directorate for PhD Training

As part of the national strategy for the modernization of higher education and the revitalization of scientific and technological research, the Deputy Directorate for PhD Training and Scientific Research of our school plays a central role in the supervision and promotion of scientific and innovative activities.

We coordinate and oversee the following missions:

PhD Training:

  • Management and monitoring of accredited PhD training programs.
  • Organization and validation of the scientific defense committees.
  • Support for PhD students in carrying out their research projects.
  • Organization of workshops in research methodology, scientific writing, and dissemination of research findings.
  • Coordination of national and international mobility programs for PhD students.

Scientific Research:

  • Administrative management and oversight of affiliated research labs and units.
  • Organization of study days, symposia, conferences, and scientific seminars.
  • Promotion of scientific publication in indexed journals and support for research professors.
  • Scientific monitoring of national and international calls for research projects.
  • Support for the participation of professors and PhD students in scientific events.

  Technological Development and Innovation:

  • Implementation of technology transfer activities and research valorization.
  • Support for innovative projects from labs and PhD training programs.
  • Assistance for researchers and students in participating in national and international innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.
  • Organization of workshops and symposia related to technological development.

   Entrepreneurship Promotion:

  • Raising awareness among students and professors about entrepreneurial culture and innovation.
  • Organization of information and training days on business creation and startups.
  • Supervision and support of green, digital, and industrial entrepreneurship projects.
  • Promotion of university incubators and innovation platforms.

Through these missions, our Directorate strives to strengthen the integration of the school into its socio-economic environment, develop scientific and entrepreneurial skills of our students and research professors, and to contribute to the national momentum in sustainable development and innovation.

Deputy Director for PhD Training, Scientific Research and Technological Development, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Promotion is responsible for managing the structure under their authority.

In accordance with Joint Ministerial Decree of Jumada Ethania, 9th, 1439 corresponding to February, 25th, 2018 defining the administrative organization of higher schools and the nature and structure of its technical departments.

The Deputy Director is responsible for:

 — Organizing and monitoring the progress of PhD training programs and ensuring their compliance with the applicable regulations;

— Participating in the promotion and implementation of the school’s research policy;

 — Monitoring research activities of research labs and units in collaboration with the departments;

 — Leading all possible actions aimed at enhancing research findings;

— Collecting and disseminating information on the research activities carried out by the school;

 — Monitoring training and professional upgrading and retraining programs for professors, and ensuring their consistency;

 — Overseeing the functioning of the school’s Scientific Council, and coordinating the activities of the department’s scientific committees;

 — Initiating actions to promote exchanges and cooperation with other higher education institutions in terms of teaching and research;

 — Responding to the needs of companies and national institutions in terms of scientific research and technological development;

 — Encouraging the development of innovation and entrepreneurship;

Deputy Director for PhD Training, Scientific Research and Technological Development, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Promotion, is assisted by the following Offices:

01- PhD Training Office: This Office is responsible for the following tasks: 

  • Monitoring PhD training offer applications (habilitation and renewal), before and after expertise.
  • Overseeing entrance examinations for postgraduate training for the purpose of obtaining a PhD degree.
  • Managing the registration and re-registration of PhD students.
  • Managing LMD PhD thesis defenses.
  • Issuing LMD PhD certificates.
  • Preparing various reports.
  • Preparing statistical templates requested by different authorities.

02- University Habilitation Office: This Office is responsible for: 

  • Monitoring and validating applications via the PROGRESS platform.
  • Notifying candidates of results immediately after the promulgation of the decree announcing them.

03- Research Activities Monitoring and Results Valorization Office: This Office is responsible for: 

  • Monitoring research activities of research units and labs and enhancing their output.
  • Managing CNEPRU and PNR research projects and valorizing their results.
  • Issuing research certificates and research authorizations.
  • Reviewing promotion applications for research ranks.
  • Monitoring the triennial reports and budgets of research labs and units.
  • Collecting and disseminating information on research activities conducted by the University.
